Malala Yousafzai debuts at the Oscars in silver sequin hooded gown.

Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani female education campaigner and Nobel winner, made her Oscars debut with her husband, Asser Malik, on Monday.

The activist wore a beautiful sequin-covered hooded gown by Ralph Lauren to the event. According to Harper Bazaar, the silver-colored dress had long sleeves and a ruched accent on one side of the waist.

Malala’s accessories were the star of her outfit. The 25-year-old kept her jewellery simple, wearing platinum pendant earrings, a silver diamond ring, and a gold ring. She kept her makeup simple and added a splash of crimson to her lips.

Malik, on the other hand, looked sharp in a black tuxedo, white shirt, bow tie, and black shoes.

Malala stated on Instagram that she wanted her clothing to express hope and represent the message of her film Stranger at the Gate.

“Everything was a dream. I wanted my clothing to express hope and represent the message of our film @strangeratthegate. Thank you so much to the brilliant team who helped make my vision a reality “The activist wrote.

“I was honoured to represent this incredible documentary alongside the director, Joshua Seftel, producer Conall Jones, and the film’s inspiring protagonists, Bibi and Mac. And, as always, I was happy to spend the evening with my husband, Asser Malik, who looked dashing in his tux “She stated.

Her film was nominated for Best Documentary Short Film. The 29-minute short follows a former United States Marine who goes to war and is deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.
