Meta’s Threads Introduces Edit Button

Meta's Threads Introduces Edit Button

Meta is introducing an edit button and ‘Voice Threads’ for its competitor to X, which is Threads. As per Mark Zuckerberg, the edit function allows users to make changes to their posts within a five-minute window after posting, and unlike X, this feature is available for free.

Posts that have undergone editing will be marked with a small icon, but there won’t be an edit history to review and correct, in contrast to Twitter’s premium subscription edit feature launched in October 2022, just before Elon Musk assumed control of the company.

Furthermore, the new ‘Voice Threads’ feature facilitates the creation of voice posts, accompanied by an automatic transcription added to the post. Users can initiate recording a post by simply tapping the microphone icon, and the content will be presented alongside a highlighted transcript.

Meta has been actively enhancing its Threads platform with new features since its debut earlier this summer. The social platform already includes a chronological follower feed, a web client, and a search bar for posts.
