Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi addressed Pakistan’s World Cup shortcomings, stating that those responsible for erroneous decisions in the selection committee will face accountability. He clarified that no decision has been made yet regarding Babar Azam’s captaincy. Naqvi mentioned receiving Gary Kirsten’s report and PCB’s engagement with former cricketers to enhance the game’s standards.

Mohsin Naqvi acknowledged flaws in the 2024 World Cup selection committee and hinted at impending actions. He emphasized that any changes within the committee will be decided soon. Regarding Babar Azam, Naqvi admitted to mistakes while cautioning against hasty decisions. He highlighted the insights from Kirsten’s report on the World Cup failure and stressed the involvement of former cricketers in revamping the system.

Additionally, Mohsin Naqvi announced a review of the central contracts focusing on fitness standards, affirming that players must undergo all fitness tests.
