Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has arrived in Dubai ahead of his highly anticipated return to Pakistan after spending four years in self-exile in London.
He is scheduled to return to Pakistan on October 21 and was delayed in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for an important meeting. Nawaz Sharif will meet with a selected group of people during his two-day stay in Dubai before departing for Pakistan, first to Islamabad and then to Lahore.
He will be accompanied by around 150 people on his return to Pakistan in a chartered plane. Legal hurdles were cleared earlier in the day to facilitate his smooth return, including the granting of protective bail in two graft cases and the suspension of an arrest warrant in the Toshakhana case by an accountability court.
Nawaz Sharif had been in self-imposed exile in London since November 2019 due to health reasons and is now set to return to Pakistan.
