Dubai introduces special offer for Pakistani drivers

Dubai Driving license

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched an initiative called “Golden Chance,” which allows non-approved countries such as Pakistan, India, and the Philippines to exchange driving licences without taking driving lessons.

Prior to this initiative, non-approved countries were required to take driving classes and tests before they could exchange their driving licences for local ones. Expats from such countries can now do so by simply passing theory and road tests.

The approved countries can simply visit RTA to exchange their licences. France, Hong Kong, Denmark, Ireland, Canada, the United States, South Africa, and the United Kingdom are among these countries.

Expats from certain countries, such as Lithuania and Greece, must surrender their foreign licences in order to obtain the Dubai one.

Individuals over the age of 18 who are unable to drive can take driving lessons in Dubai at one of the following institutes:

  • Emirates Driving Institute
  • Dubai Driving Center
  • Galadari Motor Driving Center
  • Belhasa Driving Center
  • Al Ahli Driving Center

New Cycling Tunnel in Dubai

RTA has recently opened a cyclistsโ€™ tunnel with a capacity of 800 bikes per hour in the Al Meydan area of Dubai. The tunnel, spanning over 160 meters in length and 6.6 meters in width, is part of RTAโ€™s aim to make Dubai a bicycle-friendly city.

The tunnel allows cyclists to exercise without fear of colliding with other vehicles and provides an uninterrupted path for their ride.
