Nasla Tower Plot to Be Auctioned for Allottee Compensation

KARACHI – Authorities have announced the auction of the Nasla Tower plot, located on Shahrah-e-Faisal, to compensate the affected allottees. This move follows the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s order after the demolition of the illegal structure in 2021.

The Official Assignee of the Sindh High Court has issued a public notice in newspapers. It invites sealed bids for the 780-square-yard commercial plot. The reserve price is set at Rs 811.2 million. Interested parties must submit bids by September 4, 2025, along with a 25% pay order of their offer.

The plot holds commercial status. A structure of ground plus nine floors, including a basement, can be legally built on the site. The auction will take place the same day, and the plot will go to the highest bidder who meets or exceeds the reserve price.

The Nasla Tower auction is part of efforts to repay those who invested in the now-demolished building. The Supreme Court had ordered that funds from the sale be used to compensate victims of the unauthorized construction.

The case has a deeper legal and investigative history. Earlier police and anti-corruption investigations exposed irregularities in how the building was sub-leased. The Board of Revenue Sindh’s registration wing allegedly granted the sub-lease without a completion certificate, after reportedly receiving Rs 20 million.

The Sindh High Court granted bail to the main accused in the case, including Manzoor Qadir Kaka and Khair Muhammad Dahri. The case had been registered on the Supreme Court’s directives.

The auction marks a key step in addressing the losses faced by citizens due to unapproved real estate projects. It also reflects growing scrutiny on regulatory bodies involved in land approvals and lease processes.
