PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Adviser Barrister Saif has strongly denied any ongoing military operation or forced displacement in the tribal districts. His statement came amid growing public concerns and political speculation.
Speaking to a private news channel, Barrister Saif clarified that the provincial government has not launched any military action in the merged areas. He said Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has held talks with tribal elders to ensure peace and stability.
He dismissed criticism aimed at the Chief Minister, calling it baseless and politically motivated. According to him, no step will be taken without involving the local tribal communities.
Barrister Saif urged all political parties to avoid using the issue for point-scoring. He warned that such actions damage national unity and weaken efforts against terrorism.
He stressed that fighting against the state is an act of rebellion. He noted that terrorist elements are targeting police, security forces, and civilians. However, he assured that the government is committed to restoring peace and will continue to use both legal and traditional means, including jirgas and negotiations.
Reaffirming the government’s stance, Barrister Saif said, “There is no military operation or displacement happening. These rumours are false.”

In a separate issue, Barrister Saif also responded to remarks by Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar. He criticised the PML-N for linking the Swat tragedy to corruption and accused them of exploiting natural disasters for political gain.
He praised Chief Minister Gandapur’s gesture of offering help to Punjab during recent floods, while accusing PML-N ministers of lacking unity during crises.
The adviser questioned Tarar’s double standards, pointing out multiple unaddressed emergencies in Punjab and Islamabad.
As tensions rise on both political and security fronts, Barrister Saif’s comments aim to reassure the public and defend the KP government’s stance.
