Omar Ayub Steps Down as PTI Secretary-General

Omar Ayub, the Secretary General of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has resigned from his post. He also serves as the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly. Ayub notified the party’s founder, Imran Khan, of his decision to step down from the PTI Secretary-General position. He publicly announced his resignation via a post on social media platform X.

“I am thankful to the PTI founder for accepting my resignation as Secretary General,” Ayub stated. He mentioned that he submitted his resignation to PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on June 22, with Shibli Faraz conveying the message to Imran Khan, who is currently in jail.

“Further organizational changes will be implemented in accordance with the directives of the PTI founder,” Ayub added.

He expressed that as the opposition leader in the National Assembly, he found it challenging to fulfill his duties effectively in his role within the party.
