Over a Dozen Tourists Stranded Due to Heavy Snowfall in Galyat

The heavy snowfall in Pakistan’s famous hilly area of Galyat has left at least 15 tourists stranded on the roads. Reports from local media indicate that these tourists were stuck in their vehicles overnight due to the snowfall in the Galyat region of Abbottabad district.

In response to the situation, rescue teams from Rescue 1122 were dispatched to assist the stranded tourists and navigate the slippery roads. Efforts were made to pull out several tourist cars that were stuck in the snow-affected areas.

While the snow-covered Galiyat region attracts tourists, both the district administration and Rescue 1122 have issued warnings about the dangers of traveling on snow-covered roads. They urge people to follow safety guidelines and exercise caution when traveling in the region during this snowy season.

The snowfall in Galyat and other regions is attributed to a westerly wave affecting upper and central parts of Pakistan. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued warnings of rain, windstorms, and snowfall over hills in various areas, including Khyber, Peshawar, Bajaur, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Buner, Swabi, Charsadda, Nowshera, and Mardan.
