Pakistan Youth Team Coach Moves To An English Football Club

The head coach of Pakistan Youth Team (Under-19 football team) has rejoined Wigan Athletic, where he initially began his career as a volunteer scout. Wigan Athletic manager Shaun Maloney has expanded his coaching staff by adding Tom Huddlestone and Shadab Iftikhar as first-team coaches.

Shadab Iftikhar expressed his joy at returning to Wigan Athletic, emphasizing his respect for the manager and the opportunity to learn from him.

He was appointed head coach by the Pakistan Youth Team Football Federation last September in preparation for the SAFF U19 Championship. With over a decade of experience in football, Shadab Iftikhar, who was born in Britain and is of Pakistani descent, brings extensive knowledge from both international and club levels.

Shadab possesses the prestigious UEFA A license and boasts a notable career that includes roles with Belgium, Everton Football Club, and Wigan Athletic. He has also contributed to various football academies in England, including the Billy Stewart International Academy and Stuart Gelling International Academy.

Notably, Shadab served as a trusted scout for Roberto Martinez, initially at Wigan Athletic and later at Everton, dedicating two years to each club.
