BALOCHISTAN, July 7, 2025 – Seven people were killed and seven others injured as heavy monsoon rains struck multiple areas of Balochistan, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
In its latest report, the PDMA confirmed that strong winds, torrential rains, and lightning caused widespread destruction across several districts. The intense weather has affected daily life and damaged infrastructure in Washuk, Loralai, and Surab.
In Washuk district, five houses were completely destroyed by flooding. Many agricultural lands and solar power systems have also been damaged. Locals are facing hardships due to the sudden impact of the storm.
Rescue operations are currently underway in the affected areas, the PDMA said. Emergency teams have been deployed to assist residents and begin recovery efforts. Relief supplies and temporary shelters are also being arranged for the displaced.
The provincial government has been alerted to the situation, and weather warnings remain in place as more rain is expected in the coming days. Authorities are urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel and to follow safety guidelines during this period.
This year’s monsoon season has already caused deadly flooding in several parts of Pakistan, and the situation in Balochistan highlights the urgent need for better disaster preparedness and infrastructure support in rural regions.
