The 9th Annual Global DEI Benchmarks Awards ceremony, organized by HR Metrics, was held on April 15 at the Marriott Hotel in Karachi. The event recognized leading organizations for their outstanding performance in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
Bank Alfalah, Jazz, Habib Bank Limited (HBL), and Engro Polymer and Chemicals were named among the โBest Inclusive Companies of the Year.โ These companies were highlighted for their strong commitment to workplace inclusion and equal opportunity practices.
Other organizations included in the top rankings were HBL Microfinance Bank, Mobilink Microfinance Bank, Engro Fertilizers, Faisal Bank, Fatima Group, and Abacus, showing wide participation from multiple sectors of Pakistanโs corporate industry.
Speakers at the ceremony stressed that inclusion should not remain limited to policies only, but must be implemented through practical actions and accountability systems within organizations.
Bank Alfalah CEO Afaq Bajwa shared the companyโs โ4Csโ strategy, focusing on culture and inclusion, while HBL CEO Muhammad Nasser Saleem highlighted the importance of digital banking in promoting financial inclusion.
The awards were evaluated by an independent international jury under the GDEIB framework, which includes 15 categories and 275 standards to measure diversity and inclusion performance.
Several other companies and institutions from banking, telecom, pharmaceuticals, education, and industrial sectors were also recognized for their performance in different DEI categories.
These awards reflect a growing focus in Pakistanโs corporate sector on diversity, equity, and inclusion as key drivers of workplace development and business growth.
