21-Year-Old Afghan Woman Allegedly Gang-R@ped in Haripur

HARIPUR – A 21-year-old Afghan woman was allegedly gang-raped by five men in Haripur city, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, authorities confirmed.

The victim, residing in a rented house in Sector 3 of Khalabat Township, was alone as her husband is abroad for work. Reports said the incident occurred on September 11 while she was on her way to visit relatives.

A man identified as Bacha reportedly abducted the Afghan woman and took her to a nearby field. There, Bacha and four other men allegedly assaulted and raped her. The victim also suffered injuries to her face and lips while resisting the attack.

Police identified the other suspects as Nadi, Rozi, Khan Sher, Javed, and Naseer, all of whom are Afghan refugees.

Authorities confirmed that the medical report from the Trauma Center in Haripur verified the assault. A detailed forensic examination is still pending.
