Alamgir Tareen, the brother of politician and billionaire Jahangir Tareen, allegedly committed suicide on Thursday.
According to family and party sources, Alamgir died as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot. However, the police officers that arrived on the scene have yet to issue an official statement.
The news was apparently delivered to Jahangir Tareen during a meeting of the Istihkam-e-Pakistan party.

Tareen, 63, was a well-known businessman from South Punjab, as well as the owner and managing director of the Pakistan Super League team Multan Sultans.
He ran the country’s largest water purifying plant and his company, Shamim and Company (Pvt), distributed Pepsi products across Punjab.
He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and his master’s degree from Yale University.
