RAWALPINDI β Pakistani security forces successfully killed four militants, including Amjad Mazahim, the No. 2 commander of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Thursday.
The operation took place during the night of October 29β30, 2025, in Bajaur District, after security forces detected the movement of a group of militants attempting to infiltrate Pakistan from Afghanistan. The troops engaged the group, successfully thwarting their infiltration attempt.
Among the four militants killed was Amjad Mazahim, also known as Kharji Amjad, a high-value target and deputy to TTP leader Noor Wali. He also headed the Rehbari Shura of the Indian-backed militant group Fitna al Khwarij. The government had placed a reward of Rs5 million on him due to his involvement in numerous terrorist activities inside Pakistan while operating from Afghanistan.
ISPR stated that the leadership of Fitna al Khwarij, based in Afghanistan, has been orchestrating infiltration attempts to maintain a perceived presence in Pakistan and boost the morale of their fighters in Bajaur and Mohmand. Security forcesβ effective operations have increasingly disrupted these militant networks.
The military emphasized that the Interim Afghan Government must take concrete measures to prevent Afghan soil from being used by militant proxies, reiterating that Afghan territory continues to serve as a safe haven for Fitna al Khwarij militants targeting Pakistan.
Sanitization operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored militants in the area. This action is part of Pakistanβs larger Counter Terrorism campaign, Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan. The campaign aims to eradicate foreign-backed terrorism and ensure the security of Pakistanβs frontiers.
