The investigation into a suspected drug network linked to Anmol Pinky has intensified as the Crime Control Department (CCD) expands its probe across multiple cities. Officials are now widening the scope of the case, bringing more individuals under questioning.
Authorities confirmed that CCD has summoned the ex-DSP husband of Anmol Pinky for detailed questioning. This step is part of a broader effort to trace possible links in the alleged narcotics network. Investigators say the inquiry is still in its early but active phase.
The case gained attention after a major drug bust in Karachi. Anmol Pinky was recently arrested there on serious drug-related charges. The development prompted Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to seek an urgent report from senior police officials.
Officials described the operation as part of a wider crackdown on drug trafficking networks. CCD has now launched a full-scale investigation to identify all possible connections linked to the case.
As part of the expanding probe, former police inspector Rana Ikram, reportedly the husband of Anmol Pinky, has been called for questioning. Authorities are also considering shifting him to Lahore for further interrogation.
The main case is already registered at Kot Lakhpat Police Station. Investigators believe this may help them connect different parts of the network under one legal framework.
In another development, investigators included Riaz Baloch, the brother of Anmol Pinky, in the probe. He was earlier arrested from Karachi’s Garden area. Police say he was already named in a 2022 drug case registered in Lahore.
During questioning, officials claim he provided information suggesting deeper involvement of his sister in the alleged network. This has further expanded the scope of the investigation.
Authorities also revisited an earlier drug case from Shadab Colony. In that incident, suspects allegedly attempted to sell narcotics while travelling in a luxury vehicle. One suspect was arrested on the spot, while another escaped.
The case has been registered under Section 9C of the Control of Narcotic Substances Act. This law deals with serious narcotics offenses and carries strict penalties.
Despite the ongoing investigation, officials state that Anmol Pinky currently has no formal criminal record in Punjab. However, they emphasize that the inquiry is still developing.
CCD officials say the probe will continue across multiple cities until all links are fully identified. The case involving Anmol Pinky remains under active investigation as authorities work to uncover the full network structure.
