Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has issued a strong warning to Afghanistan, saying that Pakistan will strike βeven inside Afghanistanβ if cross-border terrorism does not stop. Speaking to local media, Asif stressed that Pakistan’s patience is running out as terrorist attacks continue to rise.
He stated that Pakistan has repeatedly asked the Afghan authorities to take action against terrorists operating from their soil. However, according to him, the response has not been satisfactory. βWe will not tolerate any more violence coming into our territory,β Asif said firmly.
The Defence Minister explained that Pakistan wants peaceful relations with its neighbor, but security concerns must be respected. He added that militants linked to banned groups have been attacking Pakistani security personnel and civilians, then fleeing back across the border.
Asif warned that if Afghanistan fails to control these elements, Pakistan will take matters into its own hands to protect its people. βOur forces will act wherever the threat exists,β he said, making it clear that cross-border targets could be hit if necessary.
In recent weeks, Pakistan has faced a surge in terror incidents near the Afghan border. Security analysts believe that some militant groups have found safe havens inside Afghanistan after the change in government in Kabul.
The Defence Minister also said that Pakistan has shared evidence of terrorist presence across the border with Afghan officials multiple times. Despite ongoing diplomatic communication, the issue remains unresolved.
Pakistan continues to urge Kabul to fulfil its commitments and prevent its territory from being used against Pakistan. Officials believe that a strong and cooperative approach from Afghanistan is essential for regional peace.
The situation remains tense, and more statements from both sides are expected as security concerns escalate. For now, Pakistan has made its position clear: any threat to its sovereignty will be met with a decisive response β even beyond its borders.
