Army Chief Sends Stern Warning To Afghan Taliban And Khawarij During Peshawar Visit

Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Peshawar and chaired a high-level jirga with tribal elders, reaffirming Pakistan’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and cross-border threats. The visit emphasized the country’s resolve to eliminate terror networks and maintain regional stability.

Addressing the gathering, General Asim Munir praised tribal communities for their unwavering support to the security forces during the recent standoff with the Afghan Taliban. He commended their courage and sacrifices, recognizing the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as key partners in Pakistan’s ongoing fight against terrorism.

The tribal elders expressed complete support for the armed forces and their counterterrorism operations, including actions targeting militants operating from Afghan territory. They pledged to continue cooperating with the Pakistan Army to ensure peace and security in the border regions.

During his address, the COAS stated that while Pakistan seeks peace with all its neighbors, including Afghanistan, attacks on Pakistani soil from across the border will not be tolerated. He stressed that Islamabad has shown restraint despite repeated cross-border incidents and continues to pursue diplomatic and economic initiatives to strengthen relations with Kabul.

General Asim Munir also criticized the Afghan Taliban regime, accusing it of harboring or supporting Indian-backed terror outfits such as Fitna Al Khwarij and Fitna Al Hindustan. He assured the tribal elders that Pakistan, particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, would be fully cleared of terrorists and their collaborators through sustained military and intelligence operations.

The visit highlights the Pakistan Army’s commitment to working closely with tribal communities and reinforcing national unity in the face of security challenges. It also sends a strong message that Pakistan will not compromise on its internal security or allow cross-border terrorism to undermine its sovereignty.

Through this jirga, General Asim Munir reaffirmed that the armed forces and tribal people remain united in defending the country’s peace and stability.
