Atta Tarar Denies Links Between Pakistani Companies and Israel Amid Attacks on KFC and Other Food Outlets

Federal Minister for Information, Atta Tarar, has emphasized that no companies operating in Pakistan have any associations with Israel. In an interview with a private news channel, he made it clear that companies in Pakistan are not linked to Israel, and any company targeted based solely on a narrative would not be tolerated. He further assured that legal action is being taken against the attacks on food outlets.

Tarar also reiterated that Pakistan does not have any trade agreements with Israel, nor does it import Israeli products. His comments came in response to a series of attacks on foreign food chain outlets across the country, occurring during rallies in support of Palestine.

Earlier this week, a video surfaced showing an attack on a KFC outlet in Pakistan, which went viral and fueled tensions related to ongoing protests for Palestinians in Gaza. The video captured a group of men entering the restaurant, causing panic among customers enjoying meals with their families. Armed with baseball bats and sticks, the attackers damaged property and shouted anti-Israel slogans, accusing families of supporting “genocide in Gaza” by dining at the American fast-food chain.

The incident led to widespread fear, as families scrambled to flee the chaotic scene. This unrest, linked to pro-Gaza protests, resulted in significant criticism of multinational brands like KFC, which are accused of having connections to Israel.

Violence against fast-food outlets has been reported in major cities such as Lahore and Karachi, where protests continue to grow. As tensions escalate, many protestors are calling for multinational companies to take a stand on the ongoing Gaza conflict.

Several Western brands, including Pepsi and KFC, are sponsoring Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, which has prompted calls for a boycott of the national cricket league. With growing anti-Israel sentiment in Pakistan, many are questioning whether these brands will address the increasing demand for accountability.

The attack on KFC is just one of many incidents that highlight the intensifying protests and rising anti-Israel sentiment across Pakistan in recent weeks.
