Australian PM Calls for High-Level Probe into Child’s Killing in Chakwal CCD Operation

Australian PM Calls for High-Level Probe into Child’s Killing in Chakwal CCD Operation

CANBERRA – The tragic death of a young girl in Pakistan has drawn international attention and political concern. The Australian PM has urged a transparent investigation into the incident.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called for a fair and impartial inquiry after the killing of Hania Ahmed. The Australian PM stressed that the affected family deserves clear answers and justice.

The incident took place in Chakwal last week. A family of Pakistani-origin Australian nationals was travelling after returning from Hajj. Their vehicle was allegedly targeted during a robbery attempt.

According to early reports, armed suspects tried to stop the vehicle at gunpoint. The situation quickly escalated into firing. In the exchange, Hania Ahmed was killed on the spot. Her father and brother were also injured.

The case gained wider attention after the Australian PM publicly requested a detailed investigation from Pakistani authorities. His statement added international pressure for accountability and transparency.

Local police reports suggest that Crime Control Department (CCD) personnel were involved in the incident. Officials claimed that armed robbers opened fire first. In confusion, a CCD constable reportedly mistook the family vehicle and fired shots.

However, the victim’s father has rejected this version. He told media that police opened fire first. His statement has raised further questions about the official narrative.

The FIR was later updated with additional sections after further investigation requests. Authorities say changes were made based on complaints from the family.

The CCD constable involved has been arrested and sent on remand. His service weapon has been taken for forensic analysis. Investigators are also reviewing CCTV footage and bullet evidence.

A senior CCD official described the incident as an operational mistake. He also confirmed full cooperation with the ongoing investigation.

In a separate development, police claimed that two suspected robbers were later killed in another encounter. Officials said both had criminal backgrounds, though details remain unclear.
