“Kashmir is the Jugular Vein of Pakistan,” Says PM AJK

On the 78th anniversary of Kashmir’s accession to Pakistan Day, the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, reaffirmed the deep-rooted connection between Kashmir and Pakistan. He emphasized that the love for Pakistan runs through the veins of Kashmiris, underscoring the strong bond that has existed for decades.

Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq highlighted that the relationship between Kashmir and Pakistan is both a matter of faith and political alignment. He referenced Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s famous statement, “Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan,” reinforcing the geographical and emotional ties that unite the two regions.

The Prime Minister also acknowledged the persistent efforts by India to suppress the Kashmiris’ resolve for self-determination. Despite India’s actions, Kashmiris continue to demonstrate unwavering determination in their pursuit of freedom and autonomy. Anwar-ul-Haq reiterated that Kashmir’s natural affiliation with Pakistan was based on its Muslim majority population and its geographic proximity to Pakistan.

The remarks were made in the backdrop of the ongoing Kashmir conflict, where Pakistan and India continue to dispute control over the region. While India asserts its control over the area, Pakistan and many in Kashmir advocate for the region’s right to self-determination and its affiliation with Pakistan.

As Kashmiris commemorate their historical accession to Pakistan, they continue to push for a resolution that recognizes their right to self-governance. The ongoing struggle for Kashmir’s future remains a central issue in South Asian geopolitics, with the region’s future still uncertain.
