KARACHI – A Bahawalpur teenager has reportedly died after allegedly being tortured while in the custody of the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Karachi police. The shocking incident has sparked public outrage and prompted immediate action from senior officials.
The victim, identified as Muhammad Irfan, 16, was the son of Muhammad Ramazan. According to his neighbour, Azhar Zia, the Bahawalpur teenager had travelled to Karachi with his friends. On Wednesday morning, Irfan was allegedly detained by SIU personnel from the Ayesha Manzil area.

A departmental investigation has also been launched to uncover the exact cause and circumstances surrounding Irfan’s death.
