At least five Pakistan Army personnel embraced martyrdom in a tragic incident during a sanitisation operation in the Sher Bandi area of Kech district. According to security officials, the soldiers lost their lives when their vehicle was targeted with an improvised explosive device (IED) on Monday.
The martyred soldiers were identified as Captain Waqar Ahmed (25, from Loralai), Naik Asmat Ullah (35, from Dera Ghazi Khan), Lance Naik Junaid Ahmed (29, from Sukkur), Lance Naik Khan Muhammad (29, from Mardan), and Sepoy Muhammad Zahoor (28, from Swabi). Their sacrifices were honored by military officials, who praised their courage and dedication to the nation.
Following the Balochistan attack, security forces launched a clearance operation in the surrounding area. During this operation, five militants were killed. Officials confirmed that more search and clearance efforts are ongoing to eliminate additional threats and secure the region.
The Pakistan Army stated that the martyrdom of its personnel reflects the armed forcesβ strong resolve to eradicate terrorism. Military officials emphasized that the entire nation stands united in this mission, honoring the bravery of those who laid down their lives.
Security officials also highlighted the involvement of foreign-backed militants in fueling unrest across the province. These groups, allegedly supported and funded by Indian handlers, have carried out repeated attacks targeting security personnel and innocent civilians. Their objective, officials said, is to destabilize peace and spread fear in Balochistan.
The recent Balochistan attack once again exposed the malicious role of such networks. However, the armed forces remain determined to continue their operations until the province is free from anti-state elements.
Officials stressed that these sacrifices will not go in vain, and the goal of lasting peace in Balochistan will be achieved.
