BALOCHISTAN: Unidentified thieves stole electrical conductors from 24 Electricity Poles in Balochistan, disrupting power supply to Gandawah city.

The incident occurred on Saturday along the 33kV Gandawah feeder in the Bhaag area.

According to Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO), the theft caused a power outage in Gandawah.

QESCO spokesperson Afzal Baloch confirmed that electrical conductors were stolen from 24 power poles.

However, he clarified that the poles themselves had not been stolen.

During the incident, three pre-stressed concrete (PCC) poles were also damaged.

The theft affected the electricity feeder responsible for supplying power to Gandawah city.

As a result, residents and businesses connected to the affected feeder experienced an interruption in electricity supply.

The incident has raised concerns about the security of electricity infrastructure in the area.

According to the QESCO spokesperson, the exact financial losses caused by the theft have not yet been determined.

The company plans to conduct an initial survey of the affected electricity infrastructure.

The survey will help officials assess the damage and estimate the cost of replacing the stolen conductors.

QESCO will also prepare a report detailing the financial impact of the incident.

Officials have not yet confirmed the extent of damage to the three affected PCC poles.

The stolen conductors are essential components of the electricity distribution system.

Their removal can interrupt the transmission of electricity through affected power lines.

In this case, the theft disrupted the 33kV feeder supplying electricity to Gandawah.

The incident involving Electricity Poles has also highlighted the challenges of protecting power infrastructure from theft.

However, QESCO has not provided details about any additional security measures following the incident.

The company has also not announced a specific timeline for restoring electricity to the affected area.

It remains unclear how many households, businesses, and other electricity consumers experienced the outage.

Meanwhile, the individuals responsible for stealing the conductors remain unidentified.

The available information does not mention any arrests or the recovery of stolen electrical equipment.

Authorities have not disclosed whether an investigation has identified any suspects.

The damage to Electricity Poles and the removal of conductors will require assessment before the full financial impact becomes clear.

QESCO’s planned inspection is expected to establish the extent of the damage and the replacement requirements.

The incident has left Gandawah facing electricity supply disruption while further details about restoration remain unavailable.
