Balochistan government and the Ziarat sit-in committee have successfully concluded negotiations after reaching a written agreement. The development brings an end to the protest and outlines several measures aimed at addressing the concerns of the affected families while improving peace and stability across the province.
According to the agreement, both sides have committed to implementing the demands raised by the families of the Ziarat martyrs. They also agreed to work together to strengthen peace and maintain law and order in Balochistan through coordinated efforts.
One of the key decisions is the formation of a judicial commission. The commission will investigate the Ziarat incident and present its findings through an independent inquiry. The move is intended to ensure transparency and build public confidence.
The agreement also includes plans for a joint meeting under the chairmanship of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. The meeting will bring together opposition parties and the families of the martyrs. Participants will discuss the overall law and order situation in the province and explore ways to improve public safety.
Officials also agreed to strengthen the police force in urban areas. The government plans to increase manpower, improve professional training, and enhance the operational capacity of the police. These measures are expected to improve security and law enforcement services across major cities.
The victims of the Ziarat incident will be officially recognized as martyrs under the existing provincial policy. Their families will receive financial assistance and compensation according to government regulations. Educational support will also be provided to their children to help secure their future.
In recognition of their sacrifices, several government buildings will be named after the martyrs. The provincial administration said this step is intended to honor those who lost their lives and preserve their legacy.
To address public concerns related to revenue matters, the government will establish a special committee led by the Provincial Revenue Minister. The committee will include government officials as well as respected members of the local community. It will review revenue-related issues and recommend practical solutions.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said the martyrs hold a special place in the hearts of the people and that supporting their families remains a responsibility of the provincial government. He also paid tribute to the sacrifices made by personnel of the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), Police, and other law enforcement agencies for maintaining peace and security.
The government’s negotiating team was led by Health Minister Bakht Kakar. Other members included Provincial Ministers Zia Langove, Saleem Khan Khosa, Mir Asim Kurd Gello, Senator Manzoor Kakar, Bilal Kakar, and Quetta Commissioner Shahzaib Kakar.
