University Road: Sharjeel Memon Makes Major Announcement for Karachi Citizens

The Sindh government has approved new traffic diversion plans for Karachi to reduce congestion during the ongoing Red Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by senior minister Sharjeel Memon, where officials reviewed construction progress across different sections of the corridor.

During the meeting, departments working on the project informed Sharjeel Memon that construction activities were moving forward quickly. Officials said that various agencies were coordinating closely to keep the work on schedule and avoid unnecessary delays.

Sharjeel Memon called the Red Line BRT a major transport project for Karachi. He said that completing the corridor within the planned timeframe remains one of the Sindh governmentโ€™s main priorities. He directed all relevant institutions to carry out their responsibilities and finish assigned tasks according to the agreed deadlines.

The senior minister said the government wants to provide citizens with modern, efficient, and environmentally friendly transport facilities. He added that temporary traffic measures are being introduced to make travel easier for commuters while construction continues.

The Red Line BRT is one of Karachiโ€™s largest public transport projects. It aims to improve mobility on a busy route connecting several important areas of the city. Authorities expect the corridor to reduce travel times and provide a more organized transport system once completed.

Earlier, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah conducted an early-morning inspection of major infrastructure projects in Karachi. He visited the Red Line corridor from Peoples Chowrangi to Safoora Chowrangi and reviewed rehabilitation work on Pahalwan Goth Road. He also inspected progress on Shahrah-e-Bhutto.

During the visit, the chief minister ordered that all mixed-traffic lanes along the Red Line corridor be completed within two months. He instructed officers to speed up construction while maintaining quality and transparency in all ongoing development projects.

The latest review by Sharjeel Memon reflects the governmentโ€™s focus on both timely completion of the Red Line BRT and reducing inconvenience for daily commuters during the construction period.
