The Balochistan government has announced the launch of the People’s Minority Card, a major initiative to improve access to essential services for minority communities across the province. The program is designed to promote inclusion and equal opportunities in education, healthcare, employment, and business.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti approved the initiative during a high-level consultative meeting focused on reforms for minority welfare and empowerment. The People’s Minority Card aims to remove barriers faced by minority citizens and ensure they can benefit equally from provincial development programs.
According to officials, cardholders will gain easier access to key public services in education and health, along with business and job opportunities. The government believes the scheme will support long-term economic and social stability among minority communities in Balochistan.
To implement the People’s Minority Card program, the provincial government has allocated Rs. 500 million in the current fiscal year. This funding will help launch and sustain the initiative across all districts. The Chief Minister emphasized that the program reflects the government’s commitment to equality, social justice, and inclusive governance.
Officials also noted that the initiative is part of a wider strategy to promote self-reliance among minority groups. Targeted programs in education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and skills development are being developed alongside the new card system.
The People’s Minority Card is expected to strengthen community integration and ensure that minority citizens receive fair access to public benefits. The Balochistan government hopes this initiative will serve as a model for inclusive development across Pakistan.
