Bank Alfalah has reported significant progress in promoting women’s financial inclusion across Pakistan. The bank shared new data showing growth in women customers, increased business financing, and stronger female representation within the organization.
According to the latest figures, Bank Alfalah now serves around 650,000 women customers. Women currently hold about 18 percent of the bank’s total accounts. This reflects steady growth in female participation in the banking sector.
In 2025, the number of women account holders increased by 12 percent. Female customers also contributed around 11 percent of the bank’s total deposits. These deposits reached approximately PKR 237 billion during the year.
Officials say these numbers highlight the growing role of women in Pakistan’s financial system. Bank Alfalah stated that expanding access to banking services remains a key priority for the institution.
The bank has also increased financing opportunities for women entrepreneurs. Many women are receiving support to start new businesses or expand existing ventures.
In the small and medium enterprise sector, the number of women borrowers increased by 20 percent in 2025. During this period, Bank Alfalah financed 117 new businesses led by women.
Most of these businesses operate in the manufacturing and trading sectors. The total SME financing provided to these enterprises reached PKR 521 million.
Support for women entrepreneurs is also expanding in the agriculture sector. In 2025, about 857 women-led agricultural businesses received financing from the bank.
These businesses received a combined PKR 1.32 billion in financial support. The funding helped activities such as dairy farming, livestock management, and crop production.
The bank also introduced support programs for small-scale farmers. Under the Revive and Rise scheme, Bank Alfalah provided interest-free loans to women farmers.
Around 127 women farmers received loans worth PKR 264 million through this initiative. The program focuses on rural communities where access to affordable credit remains limited.
In addition, Bank Alfalah continues to work closely with the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP). The bank helps distribute financial assistance to millions of beneficiaries across Pakistan.
Since 2022, the number of women receiving payments through the bank has increased by about 150 percent. Currently, around 4.5 million women receive support through this system.
Through this partnership, Bank Alfalah distributes nearly PKR 48 billion every quarter to households nationwide. Officials say digital payment systems are helping improve transparency and financial access.
