Benelli is preparing to enter Pakistan’s local motorcycle assembly market, potentially making premium bikes more affordable. The development has generated interest among motorcycle enthusiasts. Many Pakistani riders hope local production will reduce the high prices of imported motorcycles.
The distributor of Benelli, QJMotor, and Moto Morini motorcycles in Pakistan is preparing a domestic assembly programme. The project is expected to begin next year. It will initially cover selected motorcycles from the three international brands.
According to the reported plan, the assembly facility is expected to become operational by December 2026. The first locally assembled motorcycles could reach the market in January 2027. The programme aims to offer international motorcycle models at more competitive prices.
Moto Morini’s Alltrhike 450 adventure motorcycle is expected to become the first model under the programme. A 300cc motorcycle is also expected to follow. However, the company has not confirmed which Benelli motorcycle will be assembled locally first.
The expected move could bring changes to Pakistan’s premium motorcycle market. Imported bikes often carry high costs due to duties, taxes, and other expenses. These additional charges make many international motorcycles expensive for local buyers.
The distributor reportedly plans to use Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits for local assembly. Under this arrangement, motorcycle components will be imported separately and assembled domestically. This approach could help reduce overall production costs.
The company also intends to pass these savings on to customers. However, the final prices will depend on production expenses and other market factors. Buyers are particularly interested in how much locally assembled premium motorcycles will cost.
The Moto Morini Alltrhike 450 provides an early indication of possible price reductions. Its reported imported price stands at Rs2.6 million. After local assembly, the price could potentially decrease to Rs1.995 million. This estimate represents the expected savings for the Moto Morini model.
However, revised prices for Benelli motorcycles have not been announced. The company has also not confirmed the specific models selected for local assembly.
Benelli’s imported motorcycle lineup in Pakistan includes the TNT 150i, 180S, 302S, and TNT 600i. These models cover different engine capacities and performance categories. However, their inclusion in the upcoming assembly programme remains unconfirmed.
