Bilal bin Saqib Named Prime Minister’s Advisor on Crypto and Blockchain

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has officially appointed Bilal bin Saqib as his Special Assistant on matters related to cryptocurrency and blockchain, as per a notification issued by the Prime Minister’s Office on Monday.

Bilal bin Saqib will serve in this capacity with the rank and privileges of a Minister of State.

In addition to his new role, he also leads the Pakistan Crypto Council as its CEO—an organization committed to promoting the adoption and development of cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies in the country.

This appointment is historic, as it marks the first time a federal-level position has been established specifically for crypto and blockchain in Pakistan.

Over the years, Saqib has been a strong advocate for incorporating blockchain into governance and financial systems, consistently urging for well-defined regulations to protect consumers and build investor trust.
