PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has called the recent ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India a “major diplomatic success,” crediting Pakistan’s armed forces and the nation for their unity and resilience. In an interview with Samaa TV, he emphasized Pakistan’s desire to eliminate terrorism from the region—together with India.
Bilawal saluted the military, particularly the air force, for their disciplined response during tensions, stating, “This is not just a ceasefire—it’s a message that Pakistan defends itself with strategy and dignity.” He highlighted that Pakistan initially acted defensively, but had to retaliate after a missile strike from India.

He also pointed to the ceasefire as a sign that Pakistan’s diplomatic strategy worked. “India only came to the table after their aircraft were downed,” he noted, adding that the world now views Pakistan as a responsible state.
On future ties, Bilawal said dialogue is possible if India shows serious intent. He also criticised PM Modi’s extremist policies and warned against violations of the Indus Waters Treaty. “This treaty is a pillar of regional peace, and Pakistan will not tolerate any breach,” he stated.
