The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi has postponed examinations scheduled for April 10 at 64 examination centers within Rawalpindi city following the district administrationโs declaration of a local holiday.
According to an official notification issued by the board, the decision applies only to examination centers located inside Rawalpindi city limits. Exams in other districts and suburban areas operating under BISE Rawalpindi will continue as per the previously announced schedule.
The postponed papers include Urdu (Compulsory) and Geography of Pakistan in the morning session. Meanwhile, the evening session was set to feature Urdu (Compulsory) along with Urdu papers for the Dars-e-Nizami group.
Board officials confirmed that a revised examination date for the affected papers will be announced later. Students appearing at centers outside Rawalpindi city have been instructed to follow the original timetable without any changes.
The decision comes amid a series of administrative adjustments linked to holiday arrangements across the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. In recent days, authorities have announced closures and schedule changes affecting educational institutions, public offices, interviews, and several public services.
The development has created a mixed situation for students under the Rawalpindi board, as candidates within the city now face delays while those in surrounding areas are still required to sit for exams as planned.
