The Chairman of Board of Secondary Education Karachi has announced major relief for matric students who were unable to reach their assigned exam centers on the first day of annual examinations.
Speaking during a visit to an exam center at Pilot Girls Higher Secondary School, the chairman stated that students who missed their paper for any reason will now be allowed to appear at the nearest available center.
He confirmed that instructions have already been issued to center superintendents to accommodate such students without complications, ensuring that no candidate is unfairly affected.
Matric examinations for classes 9 and 10 began across Karachi on Friday, with the Class 10 computer science paper conducted on the opening day.
Authorities reported that more than 385,000 students are participating in the exams, with 521 centers established across the city and 51 vigilance teams deployed to monitor activities and prevent irregularities.
The chairman noted that fewer centers were set up in public schools due to limited cooperation from some teachers and a shortage of furniture. However, strict monitoring of question paper distribution is being ensured through a central control system.
