The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued a statement to clarify its position on the F-9 Park cricket ground project in Islamabad. The CDA emphasized that the ongoing work involves upgrading the existing cricket ground to international standards, not constructing a new stadium. The authority aims to enhance facilities for players and citizens while preserving the park’s green and recreational character.
According to CDA officials, the project focuses on improving the cricket ground’s infrastructure, including turf management and landscaping. No green areas will be sacrificed, and children’s play areas and family recreational zones will remain unaffected. The park will remain open, safe, and fully accessible to visitors during and after the upgradation.
The CDA’s clarification comes in response to public concerns and media reports suggesting that the project involves constructing a new cricket stadium in F-9 Park. The authority has reassured the public that the upgradation will not compromise the park’s ecological balance or recreational spaces.
