CDA Cracks Down on Littering: Restaurants Near Rawal Dam Face Heavy Fines

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a strict campaign against littering near Rawal Dam, imposing heavy fines on several restaurants found violating cleanliness rules. The move comes after growing concerns over pollution and waste dumping in the area, which serves as one of Islamabad’s main water sources.

According to CDA officials, multiple restaurants and eateries located along the Rawal Dam road were penalized for improper waste disposal. The authority stated that these establishments were contributing to environmental degradation and threatening the dam’s ecosystem.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of the Environment Directorate, which inspected the sites and issued challans to violators. Officials confirmed that the campaign will continue until all commercial units in the area comply with environmental regulations.

β€œPreserving Rawal Dam’s cleanliness is vital for public health and environmental safety,” a CDA spokesperson said. β€œWe are taking all necessary measures to stop littering and ensure compliance with sanitation standards.”

Residents have welcomed the move, saying that the area had become increasingly polluted due to negligence by nearby restaurants. Several citizens urged the CDA to maintain regular checks to prevent future violations.

The CDA also warned that repeat offenders would face harsher penalties, including potential closure of their businesses. The authority urged restaurant owners to adopt proper waste management systems and avoid discharging garbage near the reservoir.

The ongoing campaign titled β€œCDA Cracks Down on Littering: Restaurants Near Rawal Dam Face Heavy Fines” highlights the city’s renewed efforts to protect its natural resources. Authorities emphasized that public cooperation is essential to keep Islamabad clean and environmentally safe.

With the CDA Cracks Down on Littering: Restaurants Near Rawal Dam Face Heavy Fines, the government aims to send a clear messageβ€”environmental negligence will no longer be tolerated in the capital.
