The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced that construction of the T-Chowk Flyover will be completed within three months. The Rs.1.4 billion project is one of the major development initiatives aimed at reducing traffic congestion at the busy T-Chowk junction.
According to CDA officials, construction work is moving forward at a fast pace. The flyover will provide a smooth traffic flow for thousands of commuters who travel daily between Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The project also includes service roads, improved drainage systems, and pedestrian facilities.
CDA Targets 3-Month Completion for Rs.1.4 Billion T-Chowk Flyover as part of its broader plan to upgrade road infrastructure in the capital. Once completed, the flyover will significantly cut travel time and help reduce the long traffic jams that are common in the area.
The authority has directed the contractors to speed up the remaining work and ensure high-quality construction. Special monitoring teams have also been deployed to review progress regularly. Officials said the project is a priority due to its importance for the daily movement of residents and intercity traffic.
Local commuters have welcomed the initiative, expecting major relief once the project is finished. Many said that traffic jams at T-Chowk have been a persistent problem for years, causing delays and increasing fuel costs. The flyover is expected to solve these challenges by diverting heavy traffic and ensuring a smoother flow.
The CDA Chairman emphasized that the authority is committed to completing projects on time. He added that the T-Chowk Flyover will serve as a long-term solution to traffic bottlenecks in the region.
