China has shown its willingness to actively support the enhancement of ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
On Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated that both Pakistan and the Afghan interim government have agreed to elevate their diplomatic relations by appointing ambassadors, a decision welcomed by China.

Lin emphasized that this development would foster greater trust, strengthen bilateral cooperation, and contribute to regional peace and stability.
He noted that this positive step reflects the dedication of both nations to act on the outcomes of the informal trilateral meeting held in May between the foreign ministers of China, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.
