Rs60,000 Monthly Stipend Announced For CM Punjab Climate Internships

LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced Batch-III of its Climate Leadership Development Internship Programme. The initiative will offer young graduates practical experience in climate and environmental work.

The programme is part of Phase-II of the Chief Minister Punjab Climate Leadership Development Internship Programme. It aims to train young people as future climate leaders.

Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs60,000. The internship will continue for a period of three months.

The programme is designed to provide practical training and professional mentorship. Participants will gain exposure to various areas of climate action and environmental sustainability.

The Climate Internships will include a merit-based selection process. Candidates will also have access to a modern Learning Management System.

The programme will offer district-wise learning opportunities. Participants will also receive UNCC certification as part of the internship.

Selected candidates can gain field experience through EPA offices. They may also receive exposure to different units within the Environment Protection and Climate Change Department.

These include strategic development, communication, and climate policy units. The programme will also include a Capstone Project for participants.

Expert mentors will guide interns throughout the programme. This will allow participants to develop practical skills and understand climate-related challenges.

The government has also introduced measures to promote greater participation. Fifty percent of the available seats are reserved for female students.

A special quota has also been allocated for foreign graduates. This provides another opportunity for graduates interested in climate and environmental work.
