Court Grants Five-Day Remand in Lahore Case Involving Foreign Women

Court Grants Five-Day Remand in Lahore Case Involving Foreign Women

A court in Lahore has approved a five-day remand for four suspects in a case involving the alleged abduction and rape of two foreign women in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area. The decision came after police requested physical custody to continue their investigation.

The suspects have been identified as Raza Dar, Hassan Raza, Sikandar Khan, and Sajid Ali. All four were presented before the court after being taken into custody during the ongoing investigation.

During the hearing, police told the court that additional investigation was necessary. Investigators said they still needed to recover weapons and other items believed to be linked to the alleged crime.

The prosecution argued that a five-day remand was required to complete important parts of the inquiry. Police also informed the court that some evidence had not yet been collected.

According to investigators, Raza Dar was named in the original First Information Report (FIR). The remaining three suspects were later added through supplementary statements recorded during the investigation.

After hearing the arguments, the court accepted the police request. It approved the five-day remand and instructed investigators to complete the inquiry without unnecessary delay.

The court also directed police to present the accused again on July 8 along with an updated progress report on the investigation.

According to sources familiar with the case, investigators are examining claims that the foreign women and the main suspect were involved in a financial dispute related to cryptocurrency.

Police are looking into allegations that approximately 1.5 million US dollars were linked to the dispute. The reported amount is estimated to be around Rs450 million.

Investigators claim the money was expected to be transferred to the main suspect. However, authorities have emphasized that these claims are still under investigation and have not been proven in court.

Police are also examining allegations that the women were persuaded to travel to Pakistan under false pretences. Investigators further allege that the suspect attempted to stage a kidnapping to make the incident appear genuine.

Authorities have stressed that these allegations remain part of the ongoing investigation. No final conclusions have been reached, and the facts will be determined through the legal process.

The investigation team continues to gather evidence, record witness statements, and analyze available material related to the case. Officials believe further questioning during the remand period may help clarify several aspects of the investigation.

Law enforcement authorities have reiterated that the inquiry is being conducted according to legal procedures. They said every allegation will be examined carefully before any final findings are presented.

The case has attracted significant public attention because it involves foreign nationals and serious criminal allegations. Legal experts note that the investigation must be completed thoroughly before the matter proceeds further in court.

The court’s approval of the five-day remand gives investigators additional time to collect evidence and complete pending inquiries. The suspects are expected to appear before the court again after the remand period ends, where investigators will submit their progress report for further legal proceedings.
