Daska Woman Set on Fire by Husband, In-Laws in Shocking Domestic Violence Case

Punjab has witnessed a disturbing rise in cases of women being set on fire in acts of domestic violence, sparking nationwide outrage.

In Daska, a newlywed woman was reportedly doused in petrol and set ablaze by her husband, Sufyan, with the help of his mother. The victim, married only five months ago, revealed that her mother-in-law restrained her while Sufyan carried out the brutal attack. The shocking incident in Daska has once again highlighted the growing menace of domestic abuse in the region.

Another tragic case emerged from Sialkot, where a young woman was allegedly burned alive by her in-laws after she expressed her wish to attend her brother’s wedding. Her family confirmed that 80 percent of her body was severely burned. She was shifted to Lahore in critical condition. Police at Nekapura station have registered an FIR against her husband, father-in-law, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law.

Earlier, in Dhamial, a 50-year-old woman was set ablaze by her brother-in-law. The accused initially claimed that the incident resulted from a compressor explosion. However, investigations later revealed that the woman had been deliberately doused in kerosene and set on fire. City Police Officer Syed Khalid Hamdani took strict notice of the crime, ordered immediate arrests, and registered a murder case.

Family members stated that domestic disputes over financial issues may have triggered these violent acts. Witnesses said neighbors rushed to help, but the victims were already engulfed in flames.

Police officials have condemned these horrific crimes, assuring the public that perpetrators involved in such brutality will face strict legal action. The recent Daska case has intensified calls for stronger laws and immediate government intervention to protect women from domestic violence across Punjab.
