KARACHI โ Authorities in Karachi have uncovered a major illegal operation involving the supply of Dead Meat to hotels, fast food outlets, and biryani centers across the city. The shocking discovery has raised serious concerns about food safety and hygiene in the Sindh capital.
According to Gulberg police, a targeted operation was carried out near Musa Colony Railway Phatak, which led to the recovery of nearly 80 kilograms of Dead Meat. During the raid, two suspects were arrested on the spot, and a case has been registered against them for their involvement in the illegal trade.
Police launched the operation after receiving a credible tip-off about a warehouse being used to store and process Dead Meat. The suspects were reportedly preparing to distribute the contaminated chicken to various eateries before being intercepted. Acting swiftly, police informed the Sindh Food Control Authority (SFCA), which immediately joined the operation to ensure proper inspection and disposal of the seized meat.
Officials revealed that the arrested men were part of a larger network that supplied the spoiled chicken to multiple biryani outlets and food vendors in Karachi. Authorities are now working to identify other individuals and businesses linked to the distribution ring.
The Sindh Food Control Authority confirmed that laboratory tests would be conducted to verify the quality and safety of the recovered meat. The department has also stepped up inspections at restaurants and food points to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Police emphasized that strict legal action will be taken against those found guilty of endangering public health. Investigations are ongoing to dismantle the entire supply chain involved in the Dead Meat racket.
