Lahore β Dengue cases continue to rise in Lahore as hospitals report a steady increase in patients suffering from the mosquito-borne disease. Health officials have expressed concern over the growing number of infections, urging citizens to take preventive measures.
According to data shared by the Punjab Health Department, more than 250 new cases were reported in the city during the last 24 hours. The majority of patients were admitted to government hospitals, while several were being treated at private clinics. Officials said that the number of dengue cases continues to rise in Lahore mainly due to stagnant water and poor sanitation in various localities.
Medical experts have warned that the situation could worsen if immediate action is not taken to control mosquito breeding. They advised residents to remove standing water from rooftops, flower pots, and open containers. Fogging and anti-dengue drives have also been intensified across different union councils.
Commissioner Lahore said that teams have been deployed to identify hotspots and ensure strict implementation of dengue control measures. He also instructed all departments to coordinate closely with the district administration to curb the spread of the virus.
As dengue cases continue to rise in Lahore, hospitals are facing pressure due to the growing number of patients. Special dengue wards have been established, and medical staff have been directed to remain on high alert.
Health authorities are also appealing to the public to cooperate with officials by keeping their surroundings clean and reporting any mosquito breeding sites.
Experts believe that with consistent preventive steps and community participation, the outbreak can be contained. However, they warned that negligence during the ongoing monsoon season could lead to a further surge in dengue cases.
