A tragic terrorist attack struck the Police Training School on Bannu Road in DI Khan late Friday night, leaving seven policemen martyred and 13 others injured, officials confirmed.
According to authorities, the assault began around 8:30 p.m. when militants attempted to ram an explosives-laden vehicle into the schoolβs boundary wall to breach the compound. However, a swift response from police and security forces stopped the attackers before they could enter, triggering a fierce gun battle that lasted several hours.
Fierce Operation by Security Forces
Police and army personnel launched a joint counter-operation, displaying exceptional coordination under heavy fire. More than 200 recruits stationed inside the training school were safely evacuated before forces resumed their assault against the terrorists.
Officials confirmed that after hours of intense fighting, six terrorists were killed, and the area was fully cleared.
Attackers Set Fire to NADRA Office
During the chaos, the militants set ablaze the nearby NADRA office and several parked vehicles to distract and block security reinforcements. The fire spread rapidly but was later brought under control. The surrounding area has now been secured, and investigations are underway.

Hospital authorities reported that seven policemen were martyred, while 13 others sustained injuries during the confrontation. The injured officers were immediately shifted to the trauma center at DHQ Hospital.
Hospital Director Dr. Farrukh Jamil confirmed that emergency measures were promptly activated and that all available medical facilities were provided to the injured personnel.
