Prices of essential medicines have surged in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, raising serious concerns among patients and healthcare professionals across the province.
The sharpest increase has been seen in insulin, a life-saving drug used to manage Diabetes. Its injection device price has more than doubled recently.
The cost of insulin devices has jumped from Rs2,200 to Rs4,720, making it increasingly difficult for many patients to afford regular treatment.
Other medicines have also become more expensive, including drugs for indigestion, vitamins, and treatments for thyroid and vitamin B deficiency conditions.
The revised prices have already been implemented in pharmacies across Peshawar, with several other life-saving drugs also witnessing noticeable increases.
Health experts warn that rising costs may lead to missed doses, increased complications, and further pressure on households already struggling with inflation.
