Former CJP Bandial’s WhatsApp Account Reportedly Hacked

Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umer Atta Bandial has said that his WhatsApp account was hacked by unknown individuals. The incident has raised concerns about online security and misuse of personal accounts.

According to reports, the hackers gained access to Bandial’s WhatsApp number and started contacting people from his contact list. Several of his close friends reportedly received suspicious messages from the hacked account.

Sources said the hacker used the compromised WhatsApp account to demand money from individuals known to the former chief justice. The messages allegedly asked for around five lakh rupees in cash.

Justice Bandial later confirmed that his account had been compromised. He informed friends and acquaintances about the hacking attempt to prevent any financial loss.

To support his claim, the former chief justice also shared screenshots of the conversations sent by the hacker. The messages reportedly showed the individual asking for urgent financial help.

Officials say such hacking attempts often involve impersonation. Hackers try to convince contacts that the request is genuine by using a trusted person’s WhatsApp account.

After discovering the breach, Justice Bandial filed a complaint with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). The complaint requests authorities to investigate the incident.

Sources confirmed that the former chief justice has asked the agency to help recover his WhatsApp account. He also urged authorities to identify the individuals responsible for the hacking.

Cybersecurity experts warn that hacking incidents have become more common in recent years. Messaging platforms like WhatsApp are frequently targeted by cybercriminals.

Hackers often use phishing links or security loopholes to gain access to accounts. Once inside, they may send messages to contacts asking for money or sensitive information.

Authorities advise users to remain cautious when receiving unusual requests through messaging apps. Even if the message appears to come from a trusted contact, verification is important.

Officials recommend enabling security features such as two-step verification to protect accounts. This extra layer of protection can help prevent unauthorized access.

Investigators are now expected to review the complaint filed by Justice Bandial. The NCCIA may examine digital records to trace the hacker behind the WhatsApp breach.
