An explosion occurred near the railway track in Sibi, Balochistan, on Thursday. The blast took place just moments before the arrival of the Jaffar Express, which was traveling from Peshawar to Quetta.
According to officials, the explosion happened around two to two-and-a-half feet from the main railway line. The Jaffar Express was nearing the Sibi railway station at the time. Fortunately, no passengers or railway staff were harmed in the incident.
Security personnel and railway workers responded immediately. The area was quickly secured, and a search operation was launched to find out what caused the explosion.
Railway officials confirmed that there were no casualties or damage to the train or track. However, trains were briefly stopped at Sibi station as a safety measure. A fast clearance operation helped restore rail traffic soon after.
The Jaffar Express was cleared to continue its journey to Quetta following inspection. Similarly, the service from Quetta to Peshawar was also set to resume, as confirmed by the Sibi Station Master.
Authorities are now investigating the cause of the explosion. It is still unclear whether it was a planned act of sabotage or an accidental blast.

Despite the brief delay, train schedules are now returning to normal. Passengers of the Jaffar Express and other trains can expect regular service soon.
