Pakistan is currently facing Extreme hot weather conditions across most regions. The Meteorological Department has confirmed dangerously high temperatures in several cities.
According to the Met Office, Extreme hot weather has pushed temperatures up to 48°C in Dadu. This makes it one of the hottest recorded locations in the country.
Jacobabad and Sibi also recorded severe heat levels at 47°C. Authorities say the heatwave is affecting daily life and outdoor activity.
In central Punjab, Extreme hot weather continues to impact major cities. Temperatures reached 45°C in Jhang, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Faisalabad, and Dera Ghazi Khan.
Lahore recorded a maximum temperature of 43°C during the ongoing heatwave. Meanwhile, Peshawar saw temperatures rise to 42°C.
Islamabad also remained under pressure from rising heat, with temperatures reaching 41°C. The capital is experiencing unusually dry conditions.
In Karachi, the temperature was recorded at 36°C. However, the “feel-like temperature” reached 45°C due to humidity and heat intensity.
Officials warned that Extreme hot weather is expected to continue for several days. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has already issued a heatwave alert.
The advisory covers the period from June 7 to June 12, 2026. It warns of intense heat in Sindh and Balochistan, along with moderate heat in Punjab.
Authorities have urged citizens to take precautions during this period. People are advised to avoid unnecessary exposure to sunlight during peak hours.
Health experts recommend drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated. They also suggest limiting outdoor work during the hottest part of the day.
The PMD has also warned that Extreme hot weather may worsen in some areas if dry conditions persist. Temperature fluctuations are expected to remain high across the country.
Officials are monitoring the situation closely and issuing updates as needed. Emergency response teams remain on alert in vulnerable districts.
The ongoing Extreme hot weather has raised concerns about heat-related illnesses. Citizens are encouraged to follow safety guidelines to reduce health risks.
Meteorologists say relief may depend on changing wind patterns or possible weather systems in the coming days.
