Fake FIA Officers Caught Robbing Citizen In Bold Islamabad Scam

A shocking robbery occurred in Islamabad’s Tarnol area when eight men, dressed like FIA Officers, allegedly looted a citizen of Rs. 200,000.

According to police reports, the incident happened near Tarnol Police Station’s jurisdiction. The suspects stopped Muhammad Asif, a local building contractor, claiming to be FIA Officers. They assaulted him, forced him into a vehicle, and made him withdraw cash from an ATM before fleeing the scene.

Asif said he was returning home from Dhoke Paracha when two vehicles, a Toyota Corolla and a Suzuki Alto, blocked his way. The men, aged between 30 and 35, introduced themselves as government officials, checked his identification, and then took him to a UBL ATM in Tarnol. They threatened to kill him if he did not comply.

The victim added that despite filing a complaint, no significant progress has been reported in the investigation even after three days.

Police confirmed that CCTV footage from the ATM and surrounding areas is being reviewed to identify the culprits. Authorities are also investigating whether the suspects were genuine government employees or criminals impersonating FIA Officers to deceive citizens.

This incident raises concerns about public safety and the growing trend of criminals using fake uniforms to commit robberies. Police are urging citizens to remain vigilant and verify the identity of anyone claiming to be an official before complying with demands.

Authorities have assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway and are coordinating with law enforcement agencies to trace the suspects quickly. Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to the local police immediately.

The case highlights the risks posed by impersonation crimes, especially when the public trusts government officials. Investigators continue to review all evidence and statements to ensure the perpetrators are caught and held accountable.
