The Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) has rejected Bushra Bibi’s application for bail in the £190 million case. The court turned down her request to suspend her sentence and release her pending a final decision.

Bushra Bibi filed the appeal on July 30, 2026. She asked the court to suspend the sentence imposed by the trial court. She also sought bail while her appeal remained under consideration.

In her petition, Bushra Bibi raised concerns about her health during imprisonment. She stated that she had developed an eye condition while in custody. She also said she had undergone eye surgery during her incarceration.

Her application argued that her medical condition supported her request for bail. She further maintained that her status as a woman should be considered when deciding her plea.

The petition also alleged that she had been kept in solitary confinement. It claimed that she was not receiving adequate medical treatment and care while imprisoned.

Bushra Bibi additionally accused the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of creating obstacles. According to her petition, these alleged actions affected the progress of applications seeking suspension of her sentence.

She urged the Federal Constitutional Court to grant relief on these grounds. However, the court rejected her application for suspension of the sentence and release on bail.

The decision marks another development in the £190 million case. Bushra Bibi had sought temporary relief while awaiting a final decision on her appeal.

Separate Bail Proceedings in Protest Cases

Meanwhile, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has extended Bushra Bibi’s pre-arrest bail until October 28. The bail relates to 29 cases connected with the November protest, according to the reported proceedings.

The hearing involved accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers, lawyers and members of the prosecution team. They appeared before Judge Amjad Ali Shah.

The court also extended Colonel Ajmal Sabir’s pre-arrest bail until October 28. His relief covers nine cases, according to the report.

The proceedings concerned cases linked to protests held outside Adiala Jail. The court also considered bail requests involving several other individuals.

Sadaf Abbasi, Chaudhry Naveed, Rabia Iqbal, Shahla Niazi and Irfan Saleem received extensions until October 27.

The two court developments concern separate legal proceedings. The FCC rejected Bushra Bibi’s request for relief in the £190 million case. Meanwhile, the ATC extended pre-arrest bail in cases related to the November protest.

The word “rejects” reflects the FCC’s decision on her application. The separate ATC proceedings will continue according to the court’s schedule.
