FDA Cracks Down on Illegal ‘Grand City’ Housing Scheme

The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) launched a major operation against illegal housing schemes on Friday, targeting unauthorized developments across the city. The action was carried out under the supervision of senior town planning officials.

According to an FDA spokesperson, the enforcement team conducted inspections under the leadership of Director Town Planning Asma Mohsin and Deputy Director Faran Siddiqui, ensuring strict monitoring of housing schemes.

During the inspection, officials discovered that an illegal housing project named “Grand City” was being developed on land located in Chak No.59-JB on Narwala Road without fulfilling mandatory legal requirements.

Taking immediate action, the enforcement team demolished under-construction structures within the scheme. The authorities also sealed the site office and confiscated office equipment to prevent further illegal activity.

Officials warned the developers to complete all required legal and departmental formalities before initiating any housing project. They added that continued violations could lead to criminal proceedings against those responsible.

The FDA also urged citizens to remain cautious and avoid investing in illegal housing schemes. People have been advised to verify the legal status of projects through the Town Planning Department before making any financial commitments.
